Due: March 3rd, 2017 Choose an iconic, very famous work of art in which you can insert a bit of common culture; a meme, a fandom, a trending issue, or simply use modern objects inserted into a classic and recognizable old work of art. Be creative, have fun! Due: February, 13th, 2017 (Extended deadline due to benchmarks & conference day.) Instructions: Choose a historical Cubist work of art to recreate, as precisely as possible. Check with instructor for approval before beginning. You may paint, use pastel, collage, assemblage, or sculpt.
DUE: January 17, 2016 [Same day. In class.] DUE: Wednesday, January 11th, 2017 This will be a demonstration of skill and technique, so creativity is not as important for this assignment. The goal in revisiting facial proportion and shading is to prepare you for the next assignment in which you create your self portrait. For this assignment, you will simply be required to draw a face with attached neck and shoulders. Include hair, ears as neccessary, eyes, nose, mouth and hair. The goal is realism.Remember that shading is essential to create the illusion of volume.
